Ireland is one of those places I would go back to again and again. Some of the nicest people I have ever met (and you also want them on your side in a bar fight). I could write pages and pages, BUT… for now, I had asked my DMC friend, Derek Wallace with the Wallace Travel Group (http://www.wallacetravelgroup.ie/), to give me an idea about a “different” meeting and/or event venue in or around Dublin. He recommended…
Airfield Estate is a charitable organization with a 38-acre working farm just outside Dublin. It’s a meeting venue with a difference – It’s truly the Ireland that most foreign visitors never get to experience.
Imagine holding your meeting in a barn (I mean, a barn designed for meetings) with views of open green (as in Ireland) fields. During your coffee break you can wander in the farmyard and pet a Jersey calf and afterwards, for a team building activity – there is churning your own butter and baking your own brown bread from home grown ingredients sourced on the farm. And other farm stuff.
Airfield also offers Corporate Social Responsibility options for your attendees (it’s a registered charity). The Learning through teamwork thing.
Next time I’ll tell you about Derek taking me to the Jameson Distillery for a whisky tasting. As far as I remember, it was another Learning through Teamwork thing. Or maybe that was at the Guinness Brewery. Have to check my notes.
