Sunriver Resort, Sunriver, OR (near Bend) - 211 Lodge Guestrooms, 300 Vacation homes, 44k sq ft Meeting Space Plus Tons Of Outdoor Space

sunriver resort on water.jpg

Yes, you also have to want to be there, but once there, Sunriver is a world unto itself (and close to a lot of other great year-round stuff). The stats; 211 Lodge guestrooms and over 300 vacation homes and condos, over 44k square feet of indoor meeting space plus a seemingly infinite amount of outdoor space, an average of 300 sunny days a year (so yes, it is feasible in the winter that you can golf and ski on the same day), four (!) golf courses, fishing, kayaking and canoeing, a marina, horseback riding stables, 45 miles of bike trails, a private airport, a full-service Spa, and about a million team building ideas (the use of the word “million” is called poetic license).

And one other cool thing… due to the amazing lack of light pollution at the resort (yes, that is a thing), the resort is home to the independently operated Oregon Observatory… and those folks are happy to bring some of their telescopes to your night-time events and show your attendees what the stars really look like.

The gist of all of this… consider it. :)

I have decades of experience creating and producing online marketing. I left the corporate world to work independently with people who need help establishing and maintaining their online presence. Not everyone knows how, has the aptitude, or time to learn how to use online marketing tools, and nor should they have to try. Those people who need help and/or don't want an in-house marketing team work with me. Each client has different needs, goals and expectations. I do custom work for each of my clients. I get to know each person and know their voice, their style, rhythm and budget.

I have a large skill set that covers the range of tasks for online marketing. It is both easy and cost efficient to work directly with me. I can get the whole job done.

The Nines, Portland, OR. - Located in the Middle of Everything with 13,478 sq ft of Meeting Space

thenines angle.jpg

Located in the middle of everything, this 331 guest-room Starwood Luxury Collection hotel offers 13,478 square feet of meeting space (almost all of which is located on one floor… a good thing). The original 15 story building, built in 1909, was a flagship Portland department store, and was always (and still is) a place to be seen. As an aside, Clark Gable used to work there. Because of its original department store design, the 8th Floor lobby is exceptional, an art-filled naturally lit atrium divided into “environments” conducive to private conversations and/or people watching. Great staff and good food too. Check it out.

45 Mins From Spokane, WA Airport, 338-Room Is The Site Of The Orvis Idaho Fly-Fishing School - Idaho

Coeur d’Alene Resort Idaho H.jpg

Coeur d'Alene Resort

Just 45 minutes from the Spokane, WA airport, the 338-room Coeur d'Alene Resort, is the site of the Orvis Idaho Fly-Fishing School. There are a million other year-round outdoor activities besides fishing, as well as the Resort’s famous golf course (and their Spa).

The fishing school covers everything from fly-casting, choosing the right tackle, leaders, and knots, to fly selection, and how to safely release fish. Choose a one-day or two-day school, and those who are interested can then take day excursions to put their training to use.. or… your guests can hang back and go to the spa or play golf while that crazy decision-maker goes fishing.

It also has 32,000 sq. ft. of meeting space and has won a million awards for meetings. It’s real. (www.cdaresort.com)

If You Love To Fish, This Is The Place, Expert Guides, State-Of-The-Art Boats And Equipment, Fine Alaska-Style Cuisine, Premium Amenities, And All Of That Jazz - Alaska

Steamboat Bay Fishing Club

Their marketing guy self-describes the Club as the “Cadillac of Fishing”. Not sure if the “next” generation understands what that means, but for me… I get it. Located on secluded Noyes Island near Ketchikan, (also 90 minutes by sea plane from Seattle), The Club accommodates up to 24 guests in spacious, modern Lodge rooms and adjacent manor-style Residences. Expert guides, state-of-the-art boats and equipment, fine Alaska-style cuisine, premium amenities, and all of that jazz… it’s cool. From aboard the Club’s custom-built fleet of North River cabin cruisers, guests may also set pots for Dungeness crabs and spot prawns.

After a day on the water, the Club experience continues with the chef de cuisine’s regionally inspired menus (presumably when they say “chef de cuisine” they mean that the food is good), an open bar, and a wealth of on-property diversions (i.e. cigars and whisky). The Club is staffed 24/7 with a warm and professional crew whose sole aim is to see that life at Steamboat Bay is relaxed and seamless. Did anyone say “Fam Trip”? (Kidding). (www.steamboatbay.com)

All-Inclusive 44-Room Resort Occupies 52 Acres On Prince Of Wales Island, Alaska

waterfall resort alaska - all things meetings

Waterfall Resort

First thing I have to say about Alaska… if you have not been there… it is amazing. You have to go. That’s all there is to it. Second thing I have to say… it’s a long way, but worth it. Third… whether you like fishing or not… it’s amazing. Oh, I already said that.

The all-inclusive 44-room Waterfall Resort occupies 52 acres on Prince of Wales Island near Alaska’s Inside Passage. Accessible only by air and sea, the resort is a century-old salmon cannery turned into a “legendary” (their word) sport-fishing resort. They are just a short seaplane flight away from Ketchikan in Southeast Alaska, or 90 minutes from Seattle, Washington. At Waterfall Resort, guests can fly in in the morning and be on the water, fishing for about 20 different species of fish, in the afternoon. And when it comes to groups, regardless of the level of fishing expertise, they know what they are doing. (www.waterfallresort.com)

20 Miles From Yellowstone National Park Has Been A Destination Ranch For About 100 Years - Big Sky, MT

Lone Mountain Ranch

Just twenty miles from Yellowstone National Park (and one hour from the Bozeman, MT airport), Lone Mountain Ranch (aka “The Real Montana”) has been a destination ranch for about 100 years. They offer 24 unique accommodations from creek-side cabins to six-bedroom homes… the total being 50 separate bedroom/bath combinations with the ability to accommodate 100 guests (and everyone gets their own horse).

It’s an all-inclusive resort and they can do everything from the cowboy steak fry to an elegant gourmet meal, and depending upon the season include horseback riding (of course), guided tours of Yellowstone Park, sleigh rides, cross-country and downhill skiing, guided fly-fishing, whitewater rafting, hot air ballooning, massage (really good after horseback riding), and a menu of teambuilding options. The staff is made up of real people (this is, after all, the real Montana) who truly care that you have a good time.  lonemountainranch.com

The World’s Only 5-Star Guest Ranch, A Member Of Relais & Chateaux, And A Charter Member Of National Geographic’s Unique Lodges Of The World - Philipsburg, MT

The Ranch At Rock Creek

141124_0067ranch creek md.jpg

There is luxury, and there is luxury. The RRC is the latter. It’s the world’s only 5-Star Guest Ranch, a member of Relais & Chateaux, and is even a charter member of National Geographic’s Unique Lodges of the World (and yes, I am sure you can name the other charter members).

Long story short… The 6600-acre all-inclusive year-round ranch resort offers 29 one-of-a-kind accommodations providing 38 private bedroom/bathroom combinations, truly world-class cuisine, and over 20 activities with guides, gear and expert instruction. The activities include fly-fishing, shooting, archery, ropes courses, mountainbiking, rodeos, plenty of winter sports, and in-season… 75 horses.

The “thing” about the RRC… when you first look at their all-inclusive pricing you may say… whoa! … but if you really break it down to what is included (everything), it is in-line with all of the other resorts in it’s class. So make sure you are comparing all of the components before freaking out.   www.theranchatrockcreek.com
